Chakri Palace @ Suria KLCC

Hi. We 'Placement staff' had another gathering at Chakri Palace last month. We ordered the best they had. Every dish was fantastic! But what captured my attention... rather my taste bud was the 'Pulut' with mango and coconut milk.

McDonald's Fillet-O-Fish

Ah..... my favourite burger! Nobody makes fish burger (or is it sandwich) like McDonald's do.

Tropicana Medical Centre Staff Cafeteria

Couple of months ago, I was assigned to a 'wellness' Hospital for a small accounting project. They have two cafeterias. One for the staff & doctors and the other is for the visitors. I like to go to the staff cafeteria which is located a remote corner of LG, far away from the sight of the visitors. The food is prepared by chefs and cooks from the same kitchen which prepares meals for the patients. Although the choices are limited, they are tasty. I have just 2 pix.

Lotus Restaurant, Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman

When I was involved in Data Migration project with an Insurance company for about 4 months last year, I had my lunch at Lotus Restaurant every Friday. A little pricey but  they have got a good spread of quality vegetable dishes. I simply love their cucumbers in thick peanut gravy. The picture below was taken on my recent trip.

Home made Chicken Burger

Hi. Couple of weeks ago I did chicken burgers for my kids. This time, instead of using commercially prepared patties, I did my own. I got the recipe from the Aeon Magazine which I got when renewed my membership with them. Once again, it is so easy to make and it's clean & healthy.

All you need are 1/2 kg of minced chicken. Better if you do it yourself from chicken keel.
1/2 cup of bread crump, 1 tablespoon of salt, pepper (freshly grounded), Oregano each.
1 mid size union finely chopped.

Mixed them well. You can easily do 6 big patties from the mix.

Prepared the burger buns with the usual stuffs - the lettuce, Mayo, tomatoes, cheese and pineapple if can get them. Pineapple make burgers juicier.

Fry the patties in the pan with butter if you want them taste even better. Put them in the burger bun. Viola! You have a very healthy & tasty chicken burger.

Mushroom for Lunch

Hi. Last Friday I was on leave too and I did button mushroom dish for my lunch. It was fantastic, delicious and absolutely filling. I added some carrots and sweet corn to make a complete meal.

It's really simple to make. Same ingredients like the previous mushroom dish I made. 1 can of button mushroom, 1/2 mid sized union chopped finely, 1/2 tablespoon of pepper, salt and oregano each. Oregano is simple good and smells wonderful on any dish.
Mix them well.

Cook them in the pan for half an hour.

Cut carrots into long strips and fry them lightly in the pan with cooking oil until they become a little soft.

Heat the corn from the can.
Serve the mushrooms on Romaine Lettuce along the carrots and corn. Perfect & satisfying vegetarian lunch.

Mushroom Burger

Hi. I am on leave today. Clearing my last year's carried forward leaves. Today's Friday and being a Hindu, I am on vegetables. My wife and the kids are at school. Instead of going for a banana leave lunch at the local Indian restaurant, I decided to do my own lunch. I love mushrooms and today I decided to mushroom burgers, just for myself.

Mushroom burgers are so easy to make. And they are pretty delicious too. I just want to share the recipe with you.

Shiitake mushrooms in a can, 1/2 mid sized union chopped finely, 1/2 tablespoon of pepper, salt and oregano. Mixed them well.
Fry them in a pan for 20 minutes.
Prepare the burger buns with lettuce, some Mayo, tomato. Put the mushroom in the burger buns. Viola! You have great tasting mushroom burgers. Super healthy - if you use whole meal buns like I did and discount the Mayo.
